Vice Foreign Minister Receives Japanese Ambassador, JICA Delegation

Vice Foreign Minister Mustafa Noman held talks on Wednesday with Japanese Ambassador to Yemen Yoichi Nakashima, a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) led by Yu Ebisawa, and Abdulmunem Mustafa, Head of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Sub-Office in Aden.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Yemen and Japan and exploring opportunities to further expand bilateral partnership initiatives.

During the meeting, Noman commended Japan's longstanding support for Yemen, particularly its contributions to development, technical assistance, and institutional capacity-building. He noted that Japanese assistance has played an important role in supporting the government's economic reform agenda, anti-corruption efforts, and workforce development programs implemented through JICA.

The vice foreign minister also expressed appreciation for Japan's continued engagement and underscored the importance of sustaining and broadening support for Yemen's priority sectors.

Ambassador Nakashima and the JICA delegation reaffirmed Japan's commitment to continuing assistance for development projects currently being implemented in Yemen with funding from the Japanese government.
