The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Tariq Saleh met today, Monday, with the Special Commissioner of the German Federal Foreign Office for the Middle East, Near East and North Africa, Tobias Tunkel and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Yemen Thomas Friedrich.
Yemeni-German bilateral relations and the developments on the Yemeni national arena was key focus of the talks.
Saleh highly praised Germany's steadfast stance in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government and leadership, greatly valued its significant contribution to the development and humanitarian actions in Yemen.
The PLC's Member warned about the dangerous danger of parts of the country remaining under the control of the Iranian regime –backed Houthi militias, explaining that this poses an ongoing threat to the international shipping route.
The two German officials confirmed their country's firm stance in supporting the PLC and the Yemeni government.
