A powerful 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Alaska, USA, yesterday evening, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake's epicenter was located in a sparsely populated mountainous region near the Canadian border with Yukon Territory.
The earthquake occurred at 20:41 GMT at a depth of 10 kilometers, approximately 96 kilometers northeast of Yakutat and 370 kilometers northwest of Juneau, Alaska's capital city. Residents in Juneau and Whitehorse, Yukon Territory's capital, reported feeling the tremors.
