 Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates  Dr. Shaya Zindani participated Monday in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
The Minister of Interior will hold a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from brotherly and friendly countries, in addition to meetings with representatives of UN bodies and organizations, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral and multilateral cooperation, consult on the most prominent regional and international issues of common interest.
He will also discuss with them latest political, security and economic developments, and ways to support sustainable development and economic reforms in Yemen.
It is noteworthy that Yemen joined the United Nations in 1947, and was one of the first Arab countries to join after World War II. 
It also held a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the period 1990 – 1991, and won again membership in the Council for the period 2015 – 2016 in the elections held by the General Assembly on October 16, 2014.
