The National Institute of Geophysics, affiliated with the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research in Morocco, stated in a statement published by the Maghreb Arab Press Agency, that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 20 kilometers.
There was no immediate information about human or material losses resulting from the earthquake.
