Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Maj. Gen. Aidaroos al-Zubaidi chaired today an expanded meeting of the Supreme Security Committee, in the presence of the Minister of Defense and the Committee's chairman Lt. Gen. Mohsen al-Daeri.
The meeting addressed a number of topics on its agenda related to the security situation and efforts and measures to enforce security and stability in the country.
The committee was briefed by al-Daeri on the security situation in the liberated governorates, the current challenges facing the security services there, and the procedures followed to enhance the state of security and stability and maintain public peace.
The committee also looked at a number of security reports submitted by the competent security services, in which it reviewed a summary of the terrorist activities of Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and the Houthi militia, as well as the measures taken to confront the activity of those organizations, and what was accomplished in the course of the confrontation with extremist organizations, according to a report submitted by the head of the Counterterrorism Apparatus.
