Digital Platform, Mobile App for Translation from and into Bulgarian Sign Language to Be Developed

The Bulgarian government has a proposal to develop a national digital platform and a mobile application services from and into Bulgarian language.
The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reported that the contemplated national digital platform will be developed under the Human Resources Development Programme, the Labour and Social Policy Ministry.
The platform will ensure equal access to administrative services for deaf and deaf-blind people. The project’s budget equals BGN 3 million. The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy is the beneficiary, while eligible associate partners for the implementation of the activities are the Social Assistance Agency and the Agency for People with Disabilities, according to BTA.
The national news agency added" the project activities also include training of interpreters from and into Bulgarian sign language, as well as staff of the relevant institutions."
BTA noted that the new digital products and functionalities of the platform and the mobile app will be presented in a large-scale campaign. It is expected that 570 employees will increase their competences and 150 deaf and deaf-blind people will be supported.
