Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik has underlined the important role of the coast guards in countering smuggling operations through the Yemeni coastlines first and foremost smuggling the Iranian weapons the terrorist Houthi militias, drugs, marine piracy and the terrorist groups' activities.
As he met today, Saturday, in the interim capital Aden the Head of the Coast Guards Authority Maj. General Khaled al-Qamli, he urged upgrading training of the coast guards personnel and increasing the marine patrols to deal with the different threats.
General al-Qamli briefed the Prime Minister on the coast guards' efforts and challenges need to be addressed to develop the capacities and enable the coast guards doing their jobs effectively.
