The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting Today, Thursday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, with the presence of its members Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and via video conference Tariq Saleh and Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, while Council members Sultan al-Aradah and Faraj al-Bahsani were absent with excuse.

Leadership Council chair praises GCC for supporting Yemen and its just cause

President Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, received today, Monday, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Muhammad Al-Budaiwi.

In the meeting, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council congratulated the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and passed it on to their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states, on the occasion of the forty-second anniversary of the founding of the Council as one of the most successful, effective, and sincere Arab regional organizations in the service and development of the peoples and brotherly countries of the Gulf.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the role of the GCC over decades in sincere work for the unity of the word, advocacy and support for the just causes of the peoples of the region, at the forefront of which is the Yemeni issue.

Al-Alimi on his behalf and the members of the Leadership Council and the Yemeni people, expressed his deep appreciation for the positions of the GCC and its General Secretariat on the side of Yemen and its people in various circumstances and stages, leading to its active role in confronting the dangers that threaten the Yemeni entity and its identity, following the coup of the Houthi-backed militia.

He also praised the GCC's support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the government, and all efforts aimed at bringing peace and stability to the country according to the references of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the national dialogue, and the relevant international resolutions, especially Resolution 2216.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council stressed the specificity of the Yemeni-Gulf relations, the unity of aspirations, and the common interests of the Yemeni people and the peoples of the Arab Gulf states, and pushing them to broader horizons at all levels.
