Maj. General al-Zubaidi warns of cooperation between Houthi militias and Somalis Shabab movement, al-Qaeda

The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Maj. General Aidaroos al-Zubaidi met today, Thursday, in the transitional capital Aden, with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Republic of Yemen Abdulhakim Mohammed.

The talks covered a range of topical issues including Yemen-Somalis bilateral relations, joint security coordination to protect the international navigation routes, fighting marine piracy and controlling smuggling businesses.

Maj. Gernal al-Zubaid underscored the deeply rooted Yemeni-Somalis relations, emphasizing the importance of broadening bilateral cooperation in different fields amid the common challenges facing the region.

Al-Zubaid warned of the increasingly growing dangers of the cooperation between the terrorist Houthi militias and the Somalis Youth Moment and al-Qaeda organization.

"These terrorist organizations are seeking to destabilize the regional security so we have boost coordination and cooperation between the two countries to foil their plots", he stressed.

The conversations also touched on the illegal migration and human trafficking from the countries of the African Horn across the Yemeni coastlines.

The two sides stressed that it is very necessary to develop urgent and effective solutions to the crisis of the refugees to protect them and alleviate their suffering.

The Somalis Ambassador stated that his government is keenly seeking to boost bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of security to serve the mutual interest of the two countries and to enhance the security and stability in the region.
