His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) along with the PLC's Member Faraj al-Bahsani met today, Thursday, with the leaders of the National Coalition of the Political Parties and Constituencies (NCPPC) headed by the Speaker of Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Dagher.

The meeting to review the developments in the national arena and role of the political forces in backing the comprehensive reforms program and the monetary and financial measures that have been taken recently by the government and the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY)to improve the exchange rate of the national currency.

The President updated the leaders of the NCPPC on the coordinated efforts by the PLC and the government to manage the economic hardships and to bolster the comprehensive reforms in coordination with the brothers and friends.

He cited the improvement in the exchange rates of the national currency as an example of
"This improvement is merely one step, there is still much work to be done by the government and the CBY to sustain the reforms and to allay the burdens the fellow citizens have been experiencing", said al-Alimi.

The Chairman of the PLC emphasized on the important role of the political parties and constituencies in backing the efforts of the PLC and the government to achieve major national objectives, including the continuation of the comprehensive economic reforms, strengthening the legal center of the State in the temporary capital Aden and other governorates.

He also briefed the leaders of the political parties on the efforts of the PLC and the government to handle the situations in Hadramout governorate.
