Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women

The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Acting Water Minister, Egyptian consultant firm discuss signing water, sanitation projects

Acting Water and Environment Minister Tawfeek al-Sharjabi and the general manager of the Egyptian Consultants Firm discussed on Thursday finalizing preparations to sign water and sanitation projects in Aden and Sayoon cities.

The $80 million projects are funded by the Arab Fund for Water and Sanitation Facilities.

The meeting discussed the sewage downstream basins in Kaboota and Al-Areesh of Aden and the project to rehabilitate Jabal Hadeed Water Cistern as well as the sanitary network for Khowr Maksar in Aden at a cost of $11 million.
