Human Rights Minister tells Dutch diplomat UN report on Yemen abuses was biased
[20/09/2018 03:53]

GENEVA-SABA
Yemen's Minister of Human Rights Mohammed Askar told the Dutch ambassador to Switzerland Anne Luwemathat the UNHRC Group of Eminent Experts' recently issued report on human rights abuses in Yemen was biased.

In a meeting the two officials held on the sideline of the 39th session of the UHRC in Geneva on Thursday, Askar said the report ignored the various severe abuses of the Houthi militia, stood the facts on head and appeared clearly influenced by the place and surrounding environment of the Experts at the time of reporting.

He said the Yemeni government had expressed its reservation over the work place of the experts at time it was designated.
On her part, the Dutch diplomat said the report is incomplete and its shortcomings can be avoided in the future.
