RIYADH-SABA
President Abdu Rabbu Mansour Hadi has directed the Government to fund Taiz with an overhead budget to set the wheel of development in motion, and grow revenues and regulate their collection by the Central Bank's branch office there.
He issued the directives during a meeting with Taiz governor Ali al-Maamari in Riyadh on Thursday. He urged community coordination and cooperation among all government institutions toward the national goal of driving out the Saleh-Houthi coup militias from the city.
The Saleh-Houthi militias have been besieging and shelling the densely populated city for more than two years and a half. Hundreds of civilians, many of them children, have been killed and maimed as a result.
