Report Documents Houthi Violations Against 107 Women and Children in Taiz
[27/10/2026 01:33]
ADEN-SABA

The Yemeni Women Empowerment Foundation documented the killing of 107 women and children, including 23 women and 84 boys and girls, in violations committed by the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia in Taiz Governorate between August 1 and October 15, 2026.

In a report released Tuesday titled Mothers' Pain, the foundation recorded 1,321 home raids, the displacement of 4,860 people, including 1,650 women and 3,210 children, and 221,630 internally displaced people, most of them women and children. It also documented the forced recruitment of 32 children, 1,056 crimes and violations affecting healthcare services, and 246,110 children out of school.

The foundation said the continued violations, which have left people dead, displaced and deprived of education and healthcare, require serious international action to ensure accountability, deliver justice to victims and end impunity.

It called for lifting restrictions and the siege, and ending attacks that impede civilian movement, the transportation of food, water and medicine, and access to essential services in Taiz. It held the Houthi militia responsible for the documented violations and called for independent, effective investigations and accountability for everyone who ordered, committed or participated in the crimes, including leaders found responsible.

The foundation urged the international community, the United Nations, the Human Rights Council and relevant international mechanisms to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities regarding violations against civilians in Taiz.
