BERLIN-SABA
Members of the Yemeni community in Berlin staged a protest calling on Germany, the European Union, the United Nations and the international community to pressure the Iran-backed Houthi militia to lift the siege on Taiz, reopen roads, ensure freedom of movement and allow humanitarian supplies into the city.
In a statement, the protesters demanded an end to Houthi missile and drone attacks on Shabwa, Aden, Marib, Hadramout and other governorates, the protection of civilians and public facilities, and the designation of the militia as a terrorist organization. They also called for accountability for human rights violations, the release of abductees and forcibly disappeared persons, and support for relief and mine-clearance efforts.
The protesters warned that Houthi threats to international shipping in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait endangered regional security, global trade and energy supplies.
They urged Yemenis at home and abroad to preserve national unity and uphold the principles of the September 26 and October 14 revolutions, republican values and equal citizenship.
The participants expressed solidarity with Taiz residents, praising their resilience and sacrifices in defending the republic and calling for the restoration of state institutions and an end to Houthi abuses.
