ADEN - SABA
Minister of Public Health and Population Qassem Buhaybah launched on Sunday the second phase of the health voucher programme in Aden under the Integrated Health Resilience Programme, aimed at expanding access to reproductive and maternal healthcare services.
The programme is implemented by the Yemen Foundation for Health and Social Development and funded by Germany through the German Development Bank KfW.
At the launch, Buhaybah handed over vouchers to pregnant women, marking the rollout of the expanded phase of the initiative to improve access to essential maternal healthcare.
He said the programme has proven effective as a community-based health financing model, helping improve service access and contributing to reductions in maternal and newborn mortality.
The minister called for expanding similar interventions and strengthening health sector support, stressing continued investment in health infrastructure and better performance across facilities.
