MAHRA - SABA
The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Salem al-Soqatri and the Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq al-Sharjabi along with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Representative in Yemen Adam Yao inaugurated today, Sunday, the fish landing centers in the Hauf and Dumaqut areas in Hauf District of al-Mahrah governorate.

The project, funded by the Global Environment Facility Fund and carried out FAO, aims to develop the infrastructure of the fisheries sector.

Al-Soqatri and al-Sharjabi also laid the foundation stone for a project to build an ice factory at the Damqout fishing landing center to provide fishermen with the ice they need to preserve fish, reduce waste and increase the economic value of fish products.
