Al-Sharjabi Discusses Joint Cooperation with Ambassadors of EU, France
The Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq al-Sharjabi held talks today, Monday, in the interim capital Aden, with the Ambassador of the EU to the Republic of Yemen Patrick Simonnet and the French Ambassador Katherine Corm Kammoun on the cooperation and coordination in the fields of water, environment, climate change and the European funded projects.

Prime Minister Meets with New EU Ambassador

Prime Minister, Salem Saleh Bin Braik, met with the new European Union Ambassador to Yemen, Patrick Simonnet, to discuss recent developments on the national, regional, and international fronts, as well as issues of mutual interest.

The Prime Minister welcomed Ambassador Simonnet and expressed his wishes for success in his mission to strengthen the strategic partnership between Yemen and the European Union.

He assured the Ambassador of full cooperation from the government to facilitate his tasks and initiate a new phase in the partnership, extending beyond humanitarian aid to include support for economic and financial stability, institutional capacity building, and alignment with the government's priorities.

The meeting highlighted the crucial role of the European Union in supporting the Yemeni government, particularly in addressing the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by Houthi militia attacks on oil facilities and international shipping.

The Prime Minister emphasized the government's commitment to implementing economic, financial, and administrative reforms despite challenging circumstances, stressing the need for continued international support to sustain these gains.

The Prime Minister reiterated Yemen's stance against the Houthi militia's terrorist agenda and reaffirmed the government's commitment to achieving peace based on the agreed-upon references.
