Minister of Water discusses cooperation with Director of CARE sanitation projects

The Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq al-Sharjabi, today met in the temporary capital, Aden, with the Country Director of CARE International in Yemen, Abdullah Iman, to discuss aspects of mutual cooperation between the ministry and the organization in water and sanitation projects in general.

The meeting addressed the interventions currently being implemented under the H2O project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) with an amount of $7 million, through CARE, being carried out in three governorates: Aden, Al-Dhale, and Taiz.

This project is set to continue until the end of 2026, along with the planned activities for the upcoming period and additional proposals submitted by the ministry under the project.

Minister al-Sharjabi reviewed the urgent humanitarian needs in the country regarding water and sanitation, emphasizing the importance of establishing sustainable development service projects.

He praised efforts made by CARE and its ongoing activities amid the difficult circumstances the country is facing.

For his part, the Country Director of CARE International in Yemen praised the support from the ministry's leadership and its continuous cooperation in overcoming challenges, affirming that the organization will continue to provide its services in coordination with all relevant official bodies.
