Shura Council Speaker confers with Deputy of UN's Envoy over peace efforts

Speaker of Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Dagher held discussions today, Thursday, the Deputy of the Special Envoy of the UN to Yemen Serjad Fatah over the developments in the Yemeni national arena and the UN-led efforts to make peace.

Dr. Bin Dagher has confirmed the Shura Council's full support for the road map sponsored by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reach a fair and comprehensive solution to the war and the crisis in Yemen.

He stressed that is very important to mount pressures upon Houthi militias in order to deal constructively with the road map, respect the truce agreement so as to reach a permanent cease-fire and produce fair and sustainable peace that can maintain Yemen united, secure and stable.

The Speaker of the Shura Council called on the UN to play active and decisive role in countering the grave violations of the human rights by Houthi militias against the Yemeni people.
