President al-Alimi receives UNOPS' delegation

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi met Sunday at the Republican Palace in the city of Mukalla with a delegation from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) led by the Deputy Director of the Human Capital Project, Abdulwahab Salah.

The meeting, attended by the Governor of Hadramout, Mabkhout bin Madhi and the Advisor to the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, touched upon the interventions of the United Nations Office for Project Services and the opportunities to expand its development and service support in various fields.

The UN delegation presented to the President a general explanation of the projects are being implemented by the United Nations Office in Hadramout, and the Office's plans to expand its interventions to other cities in the governorate in the areas of engineering and urban services, and infrastructure, especially in the sectors of public works, sanitation, education, and renewable energy.

President al-Alimi praised the role of the United Nations Office for Project Services, expressing his aspiration to double the efforts of the Office by taking advantage of the powers granted to the local authorities to facilitate the work of international organizations and improve citizens' access to services supported by the donor community.

The President, on behalf of himself, the members of the Council and the government, expressed his solidarity with the humanitarian and human rights community against the violations of the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime, which have targeted UN staff and local and international organizations.
