His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council met with the Under-Secretary General of the UN's Office for counter terrorism Vladimir Voronkov on the sideline of his participation in the sessions of the UN General Assembly.
The session intended to discuss the latest developments about the Yemeni situation and the repercussions of the Houthi militia's war upon all walks of life.
President al-Alim briefed the UN's official on the increasingly growing terrorist threats fueled by Houthi militias in its collaboration with the two organizations of al-Qaeda and ISIS.
His Excellency highlighted Yemen's need for the UN's support to help rebuilding the state's institutions, the law enforcement authorities, the authorities for fighting the terrorism and organized crime, strengthening the Yemeni security capacities to deter the terrorist threats in coordination with the regional and international partners.
The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council cited facts about the overt collaboration between the Houthi militias and the terrorist organizations including al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula which has been administered from one regional room located in Tehran.
