Fire set off in one of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, south of Marib city, today, Sunday, resulted in scorching the temporary shelter of 70 families of the marginalized people, IDP and illegal migrants from the African Horn, no human casualties reported.
The Executive Management Unit of the IDP Camps in the governorate reported that the fire set off today after midday in the Square no (6) in the area of al-Faw nearby al-Jufainah Camp, the largest IDP Camp in the country.
The residents were moved to Anasser School which is nearby the camp to be temporarily lodging and contacts are underway with the merchants to provide them with readymade meals.
The Executive Management Unit of the IDP Camps launched an appeal for the relief and humanitarian organization to a hand of help of these unfortunate IDPs and migrants.
It is important to note that 229 tents and temporary shelters were scorched by the fire which set off in the IDP Camps since the onset of this year 2023, resulted in the death of 6 persons and 21 more injured.
