The Head of the Executive Unit for IDPs, Najeeb Al-Saadi, discussed today in Aden with the Swiss Ambassador to Yemen, Thomas Oertel, the needs of the displaced and the sustainable solutions required to address displacement issues.
Al-Saadi touched on the conditions of the IDPs and noted the government's position on the importance of moving towards durable solutions, as an integral part of the peace process. He indicated that the government has a strategy for durable solutions, which is the national policy to address internal displacement, which is a legal basis and reference for humanitarian action.
He also gave a brief presentation on the Executive Unit and the government's endeavor towards durable solutions, its priorities and requirements, the most prominent of which is the involvement of all government agencies in the process of durable solutions, each in its field, and put forward the most important technical needs of the Executive Unit to be addressed.
