Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi received today, Sunday, the American Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.
The session aimed to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni national arena and the ongoing efforts to establish peace.
Dr. al-Alimi recalled the Presidential Leadership Council's efforts to support the good offices have been made by the Special Envoy of the Secretary General to Yemen and the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He stated that the Presidential Leadership Council is welcoming and supporting all proposals and efforts aiming to put an end of the humanitarian suffering through eliminating the coup, restore the State's institutions and establish the fair, inclusive and permanent peace.
The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council underlined the importance of mounting the pressures upon the Houthi militias to come to peace, stop exploiting the humanitarian issues to gain politically.
He stressed that it is very important to have a road map to bring a comprehensive settlement that can end the coup, restore the State's institutions and enhance the legal position of the State and its sovereignty.
The American Ambassador confirmed his administration's support for the efforts to make peace in Yemen, reiterating the United Sates' support for the efforts of the UN's envoy and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Fagin also affirmed his country's support for the Presidential Leadership Council and Yemen's security, unity and stability.
