The USAID provides UNFPA with $7 million to support women in Yemen

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) provided the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) with $7 million to aid about one and half million of vulnerable women and girls in Yemen in the coming 12 months.
The UNFPA stated in a press release learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) this amount is intended to improve reproductive health services in 8 hospitals and 4 movable clinics and 6 safe areas for women and girls.
There are as many as 8 Yemeni women and girls are in need of reproductive health services, while one out of five health centers are capable to offer motherhood and childhood health services, according to the UNFPA office in Yemen.
The UNFPA reported that there are approximately 6.5 million Yemeni women and girls are lacking preventive and treatment services from gender-based violence.
There are also some 4.3 million Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) due to the ongoing armed conflict in the country.
The UNFPA stated that it needs $66 million to fiancé its Live-Saving Response Plan in the reproductive health and women protection in Yemen within the three upcoming months.
