Officials from Yemen’s Ministry of Local Administration, headed by Minister Badr Baslama, met Tuesday in Aden with the European Union Mission to Yemen, led by Ambassador Patrick Simonnet, to explore mechanisms for supporting and enhancing the capacity of local authorities.

The meeting addressed preparations for the “Government and Local Authorities Partnership Conference” set for mid-June, as well as plans to convene the inaugural session of the “Strategy Support Group” in Aden in conjunction with the event.

Participants reaffirmed the European Union’s ongoing commitment to Yemen’s development process and its backing for government initiatives aimed at advancing financial and economic reforms.
