An authorized official in the Yemeni government stated that His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)—Commander in- Chief-- was briefed along with a number of Council members and members of the National Defense Council on the situation in Hadramaut governorate, including the hostile military operations of the Transitional Council in recent hours, and the grave violations against innocent civilians in the governorate.

Bin Mubarak discusses with Russian Counterpart peace efforts in Yemen

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ahmad Awadh Bin Mubarak discussed Wednesday with Russian Foreign Minister Seregy Lavrov mutual relations between the two countries and Russian role in realizing peace in Yemen.

The two parties commenced their meeting with public speeches, closed talk session and press conference followed by working lunch hosted by Russian foreign minister on the honor of Yemeni counterpart and the accompanying delegation.

Bin Mubarak reviewed latest political and military developments in Yemen under Houthi militia continuous military escalation on Marib Province, hindering all peace efforts and initiatives.

He confirmed that the internationally recognized government will continue positive dealing with all peace initiatives and efforts for realizing inclusive and permanent peace in Yemen on the bases of the three internationally agreed upon references; the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.

He demanded Russia to play greater role in putting pressure on the militia and its supporter Iran to stop its war against Yemeni people.

" We, in the Government of Yemen, look for Russia's role for realizing peace in Yemen … and we believe the Russian role for solving the crisis in Yemen is significant role and we depend hugely on Russian international weight," said Bin Mubarak.

He pointed out to significance of discussing chances of resuming joint cooperation between Yemen and Russia for boosting mutual relations between the two countries.

For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed his country's support to efforts of the UN envoy for reaching an inclusive political solution ending the war and realizing peace and stability in Yemen.

He reaffiremed his country's firm position for supporting Yemen and protecting its unity, stability and sovereignty.
