Water Minister, WHO discuss coordinating service provision and financing

Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al Sharjabi and the head of the emergency operations unit at the WHO Regional Office, discussed in a meeting in Aden, today the aspects of joint cooperation.
Talks went over the evaluation of the activities of the organization’s offices; the extent to which they meet the needs; and their assistance to the government in providing services.
Al-Sharjabi pointed to the need to organize information about water quality indicators, because of their close link in limiting the spread of diseases and epidemics, pointing to the importance of providing a joint database between the Emergency Unit and the WHO on water quality and raising the competency of the Unit’s staff in various activities such as water quality monitoring and the use of mobile laboratories.
