Deputy Minister of Water and Environment, the President of the Public Authority for Environmental Protection Ammar Al-Awlaki discussed with the Governor of Hadhramout Faraj Al-Bohsoni number of environmental issues, foremost of which is the inclusion of environmental projects in Hadramout within the proposal to the Global Environment Facility.
They also discussed allocating industrial zones in the districts of the eastern Yemen province; arrangements for declaring natural reserves for goats, gazelles and turtles; developing solutions to desertification and sanitation problems; and protecting mangroves and sesbania.
Al-Awlaki undercored the importance of coordination between the executive offices in the province to address environmental problems, assess the environmental impact of investment projects, take into account environmental aspects in sectoral plans and strategies, and develop perceptions and solutions to environmental problems.
