President Hadi praises British role in supporting Yemen

President of the Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi highly praised the United Kingdom's constructive role in supporting Yemeni throughout different stages and circumstances, particularly at this critical one. He deeply appreciated the British support for development in Yemen.

As he received the British Ambassador to Yemen Michael Aron on Wednesday President Hadi hailed the good bilateral ties between the two friendly countries, wishing further strengthening Yemeni-British relations and cooperation in different spheres to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries and peoples.

The President pointed out to Riyadh Agreement between the Government and South Transitional Council. He stated that the government is very keen to put it in place, voicing his hope that the UK will effectively contribute toward implementing it.

Hadi commended the great efforts made by the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the sponsor of the agreement, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holly Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince, Deputy Premier Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The British diplomat congratulated President Hadi on this agreement, reiterating his country's support for Yemen's security, stability, unity and the Riyadh Agreement.

The conversations also touched upon aspects of economic cooperation between the two countries.

The Director of the Presidency Office Dr Abdullah al-Alimi was in attendance.
