[30/09/2019 06:57]

MAREB-SABA
Governor of Mareb Sultan al-Irada discussed Monday with the delegation of the International Committee for the Red Cross headed by Mads Jensen, the organization's interventions in a number of relief and humanitarian fields.

In the meeting attended by his deputy Abd-Rabbu Miftah, Governor al-Irada praised ICRC's interventions in Mareb and its support to a number of humanitarian projects, he hoped for more support for the province for alleviating suffering of the displaced people under influx of big numbers of displaced people from Houthi-held provinces toMareb.

Governor al-Irada confirmed that the local authority and executive offices will provide all facilitations to the committee and its field teams for carrying out field studies on displaced persons, hoping the committee should translate its plans into field work.
He pointed out that the international organizations' interventions are still under demanded level and do not meet current needs and thus they should shoulder their humanitarian duty to help displaced people.

For his part, Jensen pointed out that the organization is planning to open an office in Mareb, pointing out that this visit, which includes specialists and technicians, aims at studying the needs of the people, meeting with office directors on their plans and discussing mechanism for supporting them.

The support will focus on health, water, education and humanitarian relief, he said.
