PM praises U.S. administration's firm stances toward Iranian spoiler role
[18/04/2019 02:09]

ADEN-SABA
Prime Minister Dr Ma'een Abdulmalik sincerely appreciated American principled position in supporting legality in Yemen, highly praising President Trump's administration unyielding attitudes toward Iranian regime's spoiler role in the region through its agents armed militias; citing labeling Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization and vetoing the Congress' resolution to stop American military support to Saudi-led Arab Coalition's intervention in Yemen as a case-in-point.

Ma'een statement came as he received on Thursday in the temporary capital Aden the U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Mathew Tuller and his accompanying delegation including the Assistant of U.S. Secretary of Defense.

The Prime Minister briefed the American diplomat and his accompanying delegation on the latest developments in Yemen including convening of parliament, endorsing state's general budget and the UN-led efforts to implement Stockholm Agreement about Hodeidah.

He blamed the putschist Houthi militia's intransigence and reluctance about implementing the UN-brokered agreement.

Discussions also touched upon Yemeni-American coordination in countering terrorism and improving Yemeni government's military and security capacities.

For his part, the U.S. Ambassador welcomed the convening of parliament and approving the state's general budge, describing that as significant step forward, reiterating his administration's support for the Yemeni government to do its jobs and deliver on its obligations.

Mr Tuller commended President Hadi's and government's commitment to implement Stockholm Agreement.
