The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced today the designation of 21 individuals and entities, as well as the identification of one vessel, on the sanctions list for their involvement in transporting petroleum products, purchasing weapons and equipment and providing financial services to the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militias.

Yemen, UAE discuss implementation of infrastructure projects

Minister of Public Work and Roads Dr. MaeenAbdulmalik discussed on Monday with the Head of the UAE Mission of the Red Crescent in Aden Saeed Al Ali cooperation for implementing infrastructure projects in different provinces.

Abdulmalik valued efforts of the United Arab Emirates in humanitarian, development and charitable fields in different liberated provinces, praising his meeting with the UAE State Minister for International Cooperation Rim al-Hashimi for boosting cooperation between the two countries for supporting efforts of the government in reconstruction, especially road.

He made it clear that his ministry has a number of plans and projects but there are priorities led by inclusive reconstruction in the near future.

For his part, Al Ali confirmed that the projects implemented by the UAE in Yemen aim at helping and improving capabilities, especially in infrastructure field.

He pointed out that a team from the UAE will arrive next week for discussing the nature of the projects demanded by the ministry and including them in 2019 executive plan.
