The leadership of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition backing Yemen has provided support to Al-Balsam International Organization to help them enter Yemen and provide free cardiac surgeries to Yemeni patients in coordination with the Yemeni government.
In a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the leadership of the Coalition said that Al-Balsam had received, through the Yemeni Ministry of Public Health, a letter from Nabdh El Hayat Center in Mukalla requesting urgent cardiac surgical operations for a number of heart patients.
The Arab Coalition facilitated the entry of Al-Balsam's medical team and provided logistical support to it which culminated with the team's carrying out of a number of surgeries successfully.
The statement indicated that the support to Al-Balsam comes as part of the continuous efforts of the Saudi-led Arab Coalition to grant permits to international humanitarian organizations and associations and to facilitate their entry into Yemeni territory as well as part the Coalition's plan for massive humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the Iran-affiliate Houthi militia.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Balsam had achieved positive results in the treatment of heart patients in the city of Mukalla last May by performing a number of similar surgeries for destitute heart patients; 12 open heart surgery and 125 catheterizations
