RIYADH-SABA
President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi called on religious preachers and scholars to unify against sectarian and regionalist bigotry and spread the message of peace and tolerance.
In a meeting with a number of Yemen's preachers and scholars in Riyadh on Thursday, Hadi hailed the preachers' role in exposing the agenda of the Houthi rebel militia which indoctrinates its fighters with sectarian and regionalist hatred as an underlying catalyst to invade and destroy other parts of Yemen. "You have seen what this criminal militia has done; violations, destruction, killings, and bloodshed," he told the preachers.
Hadi said the Houthi agenda is Iranian inspired.
"They abandoned the principles which the Yemenis agreed on; justice, equity, and fair sharing of power and wealth in a new federal state," said Hadi referring to Yemen's historical National Dialogue 2013-2014 which Houthis rebelled against dragging Yemen into the current conflict and humanitarian crisis.
