His Excellency (HE) President Dr. Rashad a-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), affirmed that the state is determined to protect civilians, uphold its legal standing and maintain unity in its military and security decisions, warning of the danger posed by the escalation of the South Transitional Council (STC) in Hadramout and al-Mahra governorates and the involvement of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in supporting the rebellion and undermining state institutions.

Yemen, Mauritania discuss Houthi violations in Sana'a

Yemen's Ambassador to Mauritania Salem al-Arada discussed onThursday with Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation IsselkouOuld Ahmad latest developments in Yemen and Houthi militia's crimes against citizens in Sana'a.

They discussed Houthi mass killing and execution of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh and leaders of opposing political parties.

Ambassador al-Arada renewed government's firm position on realizing peace in accordance with the three references; the GCC Initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.

He also talked about government's concessions it made for the sake of peace despite stubbornness of the rebel militia, which seeks continuation of war.

For his part, the Mauritanian Minister confirmed his country's support to Yemen's legitimacy and denounced practices of Hotuhi militia in Sana'a against innocent and civilians.

He praised victory of the National Army of regaining the coastal city of Mocha, Hodeida.
