ROME-SABA
Minister of Local Administration and the Head of the Supreme Relief Committee Abdulraqeeb Fath discussed on Friday with
Deputy Director of World Food Program Emir Abdullah relief and humanitarian projects implemented by the program.
Challenges facing implementation of these projects were also tackled.

Fath reviewed latest developments of humanitarian situation in Yemen, noting that the situation has been complicated over Hiouthi-Saleh militias' stubbornness and rejection of all Arab and international initiatives for dialogue despite positive response of President Hadi and his government to these initiatives.

He also reviewed efforts of the government for alleviating suffering of the severe humanitarian conditions, noting that the government is working in cooperation with all donors to secure people's lives and provide relief and humanitarian assistances to all provinces.

Fath emphasized integration of all international and regional efforts to avoid more deterioration of humanitarian situation. He confirmed that the WFP and other international organizations must coordinate with the government to guarantee needy peoples' access to relief assistances.

He welcomed the program's decision of expanding its office in Aden, confirming the committee's readiness of providing all needed facilitations to the program and all UN organizations operating in humanitarian field.

For his part, the Deputy Director of WFP Abdullah confirmed continuation of the program's activities in providing relief support needed for treating humanitarian situation in Yemen, noting that Yemen has become in the priority list of the program currently.

Yemen has become the greatest crisis the program faces over huge increasing numbers of needy who suffer lack of food security and malnutrition, he said.
