President highlights activating UK-led Yemen's Friends Association

President AbdoRabbu Mansour Hadi has emphasized on activating UK-led Yemen's Friends Association for supporting Yemen and responding to its urgent and necessary needs.
In his meeting with UK Ambassador to Yemen SimonShercliff on Thursday, President Hadi discussed with him current conditions in Yemen and means of realizing peace.
Talking about latest developments in the country in different fields, President noted to government's efforts in normalizing living and economic situations and exerting double efforts for providing basic services to the people. He also talked about efforts of getting funds for paying salaries of employees after Houthi-Saleh's rebel militias looted the state's funds for their war effort.
"Despite a number of challenges, work and double efforts are continuing until realizing aspirations of Yemeni people in laying the foundations of admirable peace and stability in accordance with related resolutions and foundations supported by brothers in the Coalition and permanent members in the Security Council, including the UK and its positive stances supporting the legitimacy," said President.
For his part, Ambassador Shercliff expressed happiness for meeting with the president and discussing a number of issues and topics concerning the two countries and on briefing on latest developments in Yemen.
He confirmed UK support to Yemen and its legitimate leadership and coordination in international forums for unifying efforts and activating cooperation.
