His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) blamed the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias for the Yemeni people longstanding humanitarian ordeal, particularly in the militias-controlled regions where the fellow citizens are struggling with unspeakable living conditions.

The Yemeni people are fed up with the Houthi militias' slogans and reckless adventures that have turned the militia-controlled areas into one of the worst places to live on earth, he remarked.

The era of blackmail, threats and intimidation is over. The Yemeni government will no longer allow this approach to continue or let anyone dictates decisions on war and peace or enforce the pace of events on the Yemenis, regional security and global peace, al-Alimi stressed.

He made his comments during his meeting today, Tuesday, with the Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Authority Mohammad al-Ghaithi and his deputies Abdulmalik al-Mikhlafi, Sakhr al-Wajeah, Akram al-Amri and Dr. Balqis Abu Usba.

No party, no matter who, can determine Yemen’s future and the future of its great people through blackmail or force, he noted.
The President also touched on the political leadership's initiatives and decisions over the recent days and weeks to spare our country further escalation, saying " the government has dealt with recent developments with the highest degree of responsibility, protecting the sovereignty of the state while also safeguarding the lives of civilians and welcoming all humanitarian initiatives that respect the law and the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen".

He added: "If some think that self-control is a sign of weakness or caring for peace is a retreat, they are misjudging the will of the Yemeni people and misunderstanding the role that any responsible leadership should take on to achieve its people's aspirations at the lowest possible cost.

The President pointed out that the PLC and the Yemeni government are open to any sincere effort that leads to peace and ends suffering, but he emphasized that the desired peace is the one that addresses the root causes of the crisis, restores the state's legitimacy, ensures equality among all Yemenis and ends the presence of any armed group outside state institutions.

He affirmed that any understandings or arrangements from now on will not be the result of threats or blackmail, but rather the outcome of the state's resilience, the steadfastness of its people, and the growing conviction of the regional and international communities that Yemen's stability starts with restoring its institutions, not by consolidating the status quo.

The Chairman of the PLC emphasized that the resilience shown by state institutions and their continued fulfillment of their essential obligations would not have been possible without the sincere stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its ongoing political, economic and humanitarian support.

The President also reaffirmed the government's commitment to applying institutional reforms, strengthening the independence of oversight bodies and improving the investment climate, alongside the developing capabilities of the armed forces and security, unifying military and security decisions, and enabling state institutions to carry out their responsibilities across various governorates.
