His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, chaired Monday an emergency meeting of the National Defense Council attended by all members of the Presidential Leadership Council: Sultan Al-Aradah, Tariq Saleh, Abdulrahman Al-Muharrami, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli, Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Salem Al-Khanbashi.

The meeting was also attended by Speaker of Parliament Sheikh Sultan al-Barakani, Prime Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani, Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr, Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission Mohammed al-Ghaithi, as well as ministers and senior officials who are members of the National Defense Council.

The council's members reviewed the readiness of the armed forces and all military formations to deter the escalation by the Houthi terrorist militia and discussed mobilizing all available resources to advance the battle to restore state institutions and end the coup.

The Council received military and security briefings on coordinated measures at all levels to confront the Houthi threat, prevent attempts to impose any fait accompli outside the state's exclusive authority, and implement government plans to resume oil exports.

The revenues, the Council said, will be directed toward meeting the state's essential obligations, foremost led by paying public sector salaries, improving public services, and strengthening economic stability.

The measures are intended to ensure Yemen's natural resources benefit all citizens and to end their use as a tool for extortion and the undermining of state institutions.

The meeting reaffirmed that restoring state institutions and safeguarding Yemen's sovereignty and republican system remain urgent national priorities that cannot be delayed.

It called on all segments of the Yemeni people to unite behind the armed forces, military formations, and security agencies, and to support them in carrying out their constitutional duties as the sole guarantor of restoring security and stability and bringing the coup to an end.

The Council also stressed that the government will continue to fulfill its responsibility to protect citizens and national assets while exercising the utmost restraint, adhering to international law, and making every effort to spare civilians any additional consequences.

The meeting approved an additional package of military, security, economic, and administrative measures aimed at strengthening the readiness of state institutions to respond to various scenarios and challenges, while ensuring a firm response to any threats or attempts to undermine the country's security and sovereignty, in accordance with approved plans and assessments by the competent authorities.

The National Defense Council expressed its deep appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's continued support for Yemen's state institutions and its efforts to promote peace and stability.

It also welcomed the positive stance of the international community and its broad condemnation of what it described as Iranian violations and infringements on the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen.
