His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, accompanied by Council Member Lieutenant General Mahmoud al-Subaihi, met Saturday with his brother, His Excellency President Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
The meeting addressed the distinguished historical relations between the two brotherly countries and prospects for strengthening and developing them across various fields.
It also included an exchange of views on a number of regional issues and developments, led by coordinating efforts to combat terrorism and confronting shared security challenges, including the growing activities of armed groups and militias, their cross-border threats, the protection of international navigation security, and regional stability.
President al-Alimi praised the sincere and brotherly positions of the Federal Republic of Somalia in support of Yemen and its political leadership in various regional and international forums, particularly through its membership in the United Nations Security Council.
He reaffirmed Yemen’s firm and supportive stance toward the Somali government, as well as its unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty over all its national territory.
