Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramout Salem al-Khanbashi inspected Sunday the military sites at Riyan International Airport that sustained damage and were subjected to looting during the recent events witnessed by the governorate.
During his tour, Governor al-Khanbashi was briefed by leaders of the Nation’s Shield Forces, along with a number of military and security commanders, on the extent of the damage inflicted on those sites.
He affirmed the concern of the state leadership and the local authority to preserve state assets in a manner that contributes to strengthening security and stability and protecting vital facilities.
The Presidential Leadership Council member praised the heroic role carried out by units of the Hadrami Elite Forces, commending their steadfastness in their positions and their fulfillment of their national duty in securing the airport perimeter and the arrival and departure halls, despite the difficult circumstances the governorate went through.
Governor al-Khanbashi emphasized that what was provided by the Hadrami Elite Forces and the Nation’s Shield Forces reflects a high level of discipline and national responsibility, stressing the importance of maintaining continuous security and military readiness to protect the airport fundamental pillar and sovereign facilities.
