The Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for Political Affairs Dr. Mansour Baggash met today, Thursday, with the non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Yemen Kirsti Tromsdal and the Norwegian Special Envoy to Yemen Heidi Alborji Johansen.
They discussed developments in the Yemeni arena, updates on the peace process, challenges facing the government, as well as exchanged views on Norway's role in supporting the efforts of the United Nations and the international community to achieve lasting stability in Yemen.
Baggash underscored the importance of close cooperation with international partners.
He stated that the Yemeni government is keenly and continuously striving to achieve peace and restore state institutions.
The Norwegian Ambassador and envoy expressed their country's support for the Presidential Leadership Council headed by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi and for the peace process in Yemen.
The meeting was attended by an advisor at the Norwegian NOREF Center for Conflict Resolution, Øystein Skotheim and the Second Secretary for Political Affairs at the Norwegian Embassy in Riyadh, Heilar Havnes.
