President al-Alimi receives Bahraini Foreign Minister

NEW YORK - SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, along with Council members Major General Aidaroos al-Zubaidi and Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, received Wednesday the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr. Abdullatif al-Zayani, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

In the meeting, the Bahraini Foreign Minister conveyed to President the greetings of his brother King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his Crown Prince, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and their wishes to him and the members of the Presidential Leadership Council for good health and happiness, and to the Yemeni people for security, stability, and peace.

In the meeting, the President renewed his expression of Yemen's thanks and appreciation to the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain for its honorable positions alongside the Yemeni people, and its sincere keenness to achieve their aspirations to restore state institutions, peace, security, stability, and development, praising the facilities and attention that the Yemeni community receives from the Bahraini authorities in all fields.

The meeting discussed developments in the Yemeni situation, coordinating the common positions of the two brotherly countries regarding regional developments, challenges and issues of common interest.

President al-Alimi stressed the importance of the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a member of the Security Council and the Sanctions Committee in enhancing the chances of peace in Yemen and the region on the basis of its nationally, regionally and internationally agreed upon refrences, in particular Resolution 2216.
