Presidential Decisions Bring Historic Gains for Yemeni Women
The recent republican decisions issued yesterday, Thursday, marked a new turning point in promoting the participation of Yemeni women in decision-making positions. The decisions included the appointment of Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, making her the first woman in the country's history to hold this sovereign portfolio. Moreover, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Salem Jaasous was appointed Minister of Local Administration, becoming the first woman to take on this ministry since the establishment of the republic.

Al-Shadadi participates in 38th Conference of Arab Parliamentary Union

The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Mohammed al-Shadadi contributed today, Saturday, to the discussions of the 38th Conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU), held in Algeria themed " The Role of APU amid Regional, International Changes).

Al-Shadadi highlighted a host of formidable challenges Arab nation faced by first and foremost is the Palestinian cause, describing it as the No. 1 Issue for the Arab nation.

He said " Even though some Arab country including Yemen have been experiencing complicated crises, the Palestinian cause remains the central issue of Arab nation".

He called on the APU to adopt a united and effective stance in support of the Palestinian people's legitimate rights.

"It is very important for the APU to endorse a united and active stance in support of the Palestinian legitimate rights including the right to independence and establish the Palestinian statehood with al-Quds as its capital", said al-Shadadi.
