Presidential Leadership Council orders comprehensive reforms to improve state institutions efficiency

The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) has continued its sessions today, Tuesday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council with the presence of its members Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Sultan al-Arada, Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Faraj al-Bahsani, while Tariq Saleh contributed to the discussions via the video conference technology.

The Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak was in attendance and contributed to the discussions.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in the national scene and the government's ongoing efforts to secure basic services and to mitigate the humanitarian crisis created by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias.

The PLC heard a report by the Prime Minister about the indicators of the economic and institutional performance during the recent period and the course of the comprehensive reforms and the required measures and decisions to strengthen the role of the government in managing current challenges and improve its action at national and local levels.

The PLC has stressed that it is very important to carry out its directives about the return of the whole institutions of the state to operate in the temporary capital Aden and the government-held governorates, to immediately handle the economic situation and basic services, bolster corruption fighting efforts, improve the public revenues, reduce expenditures and to act on the recommendations of PLC's subsidiary bodies, regional and international partners.

The PLC urged the government to double down efforts to facilitate the interventions of the humanitarian community, ease the movement of the relief organizations' staff, enable them to access the local communities.

The Council ordered accelerate re-constitute the High Relief Authority and establish a National Authority for Caring for of the Injured Servicemen and the Martyrs' Families.

The PLC was briefed by the Minister of Defense (Lt Gen) Mohsen al-Daeri and the Chief of the General Staff, Commander of the Joint Operations (Lt Gen) Sagheer bin Aziz about the military situation and combat readiness of the of troops in different frontlines.
