The Presidential Leadership Council discusses topical issues on national arena

Today, , the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting today, Wednesday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council. All members of the Council were in attendance: Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Sultan al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mejulli and Faraj al-Bahsani.

The meeting focused on local developments at all levels, first and foremost are the latest economic, developmental, basic services, living and humanitarian conditions which have been exacerbated by the attacks of the Iranian regime backed Houthi terrorist militias on oil facilities and international shipping lines.

The PLC's members reported about the tasks entrusted to them and reviewed government reports on the level of implementation of comprehensive reforms, and the Council's decisions and recommendations related to enhancing security and stability, improving the living and basic services conditions of citizens.

They also reviewed the government's practical measures aimed to contain the repercussions of the Houthi militias systematic destructive procedures against national economy.

The discussions also touched on the government's plans and efforts to ensure delivering the state's obligations, including the payment of salaries of employees and the necessary funds for the import of basic commodities.

The PLC praised the outcomes of its recent meeting with the Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of France and the United Kingdom, which reaffirmed the strong partnership between the PLC, the government and key international allies to boost the common goals to support peace, security and stability in Yemen.

The Council applauded the unified position of the international community on the Yemeni issue and its firm commitment to support the PLC, the Yemeni government and people, alleviate their humanitarian suffering and advocate for their aspirations to restore state institutions, development, stability and peace.

The PLC reiterated its great gratitude and appreciation for the supportive stances of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in support of the Yemeni people and their legitimate leadership.

The PLC stated that it is looking forward to urgent international support to respond to the priorities of the current stage, first and foremost of which is the economic rescue plan and the Council's strategy to deal with the intertwined challenges created by the continued terrorist escalation of the Houthi militias and its catastrophic repercussions on the humanitarian, basic services and living conditions.

The Council underscored the priority of improving public services and resources and going on the reforms efforts, including activating integrity mechanisms and combating corruption in accordance with their standards coordinated with regional and international partners.
