The Chairman of the Consultation and Reconciliation Authority Mohammed al-Ghaithi received Thursday the Head of the EU Mission Gabriel Munuera Vinals, and the ambassadors of Germany Hubert Joseph Jäger and the Netherlands Janette Sieben.
The meeting discussed the development and enhancement of cooperation and joint coordination between the Consultation and Reconciliation Authority and the European Union, within the framework of the EU member states' support for our country, as well as the nature of the efforts made by the Authority to assist the Presidential Leadership Council and to bring together various forces, components, and political parties through the work of the permanent committees in the Authority.
The meeting emphasized the necessity of considering the economic situation as a top priority that requires focused and genuine efforts from all local parties and all actors at both regional and international levels.
The Chairman reiterated the Authority's support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Council of Ministers in their efforts to implement necessary economic reforms and measures, the importance of enhancing the principles of transparency and accountability, and the need to save the economic system from collapse through a clear and agreed-upon strategy.
During the meeting, which reviewed political developments, al-Ghaithi stressed the need to reconsider the representation of civil society to ensure that support and efforts are directed towards enhancing the convergence of various segments and parties, and to create a real environment for all voices, so that the results of any discussions are accurate and genuine, making it possible to build upon them.
He pointed out the harm caused by any non-neutral efforts to the state of partnership and convergence, affirming that Aden has embraced everyone despite the circumstances it has faced and continues to face.
For their part, the Head of the EU Mission and the attending ambassadors reiterated the European Union's supportive and backing position for the legitimacy and its institutions, confirming their support for the efforts of the Consultation and Reconciliation Authority and its importance at this stage.
They also affirmed necessity of providing the required assistance in developmental and humanitarian aspects.
